Priced or Priceless

Have you legitimately thought about the value of a certain item? There can be value through money, through thoughts, or even through feelings. But who really is that person or place that puts a value on something, does somebody just walk around the world saying “that lamp, 5 dollars” “That car, 16000”. I believe that it is not that person but the person who owns the item, I think they are the ones who put value on the stuff that they own. It happens through experience or tragedy, that is what puts value on an item.
My heart races as I join my team in the fight. I let my jungler know that to win she needs to land a five man ult on the enemy team. I run in, she lands the ult. I go nuts. I see red and jump on there carry i hit my ult and my e and dont stop. I am life stealing all their damage and killing one after the other.Double kill, Triple kill, Quadra kill, Ace.
I calm down and realize its just a game and that i don't need to get so worked up. I am playing my favorite game, league of legends, I am also playing my favorite character Jax. I look around and see that I am in my room playing on my computer. Over all my computer is the most expensive item I own. I got it three years ago from my uncle and have upgraded it ever since. It wasn't a very good computer at first with only 8Gb of space and no graphics card, since then i have added over 200GB of space, an Nvidia 780 Graphics card, A completely Programmable mouse, and a Ducky shine Mechanical keyboard with Black switches and G35 turtle beach headphones. All together it has cost me over 500 Dollars but i bought all of the those items with my own money, Except for my keyboard which was a christmas present.
I Open my eyes and see my street covered in frosty white snow.  I hear the grinding of the pellet stove out in the den. I am the only one up and its early in the morning. Its christmas morning. I know that my parents will not wake up right now to start opening presents so i wait for them to wake up by themselves. It takes a while but finally i hear my dad roll out of bed and into the bathroom. I jump up and head over to my parents room, and after a lot of talk about the day we finally start opening presents. We all have a good time with it but then the real fun arrives. In comes my cousins, grandma, uncle, and grandpa. I don't get to see my family often because we don't live too close to each other. I play football with my cousins and my brother using the teams that we use every year because we believe that they are the most fair.
Then the best part of the day arrives, we feast. I try and talk to my older family before dinner because we have a kids table and an adults table. The kids table is by far the funnest, we have all of my cousins (Even my two cousins that are 24 and 23) me and my brother. We eat ham, rice, chicken, gravy, and bread. Its the best dinner that I eat all year.
My computer and my christmas tradition might sound not so similar but both my computer and christmas let me interact with family members that I don't get to see to often. I get to play some games with my uncle and cousin. And my christmas tradition let me actually interact with my family, face to face for a day. Especially my uncle who has been in the hospital since 2007. He got into a car crash early one morning and suffered brain damage to speech and memory. But we do take him out for a day so that he can see us and interact with us again.
My computer and christmas tradition are also very different, my computer does take away from those games of football out in the yard or those sunday morning breakfast with the family, so after playing for many years I have come up with a balance between the two so that I don't miss out on those games and that i still stay social and connected with my family.
My computer and my christmas tradition make me very excited and happy and I think as long as im doing something that i enjoy doing , like playing computer games, it doesn't matter what other people think because in the end i'm having fun doing something I Love and there just
sitting there watching me.

  1. I think the author is saying that even if others don’t accept what he values, he doesn’t stop valuing those things because he feels that if he is happy and others don’t accept it, it’s their problem. The author conveys that the computer is valuable not only because of its monetary worth, but the work he put into it. He is saying that value is in the eye of the beholder, in a sense. I thought the author put very good description into christmas with his family. I thought that playing football and the snow on the ground gave a good visual for the reader. It was like I could see it. I like the organization. It was paced well and the order made sense. I could understand the authors thoughts easier because it was well organized, especially in the middle paragraphs. I think you could work on your grammar a bit. Make sure your capitalization is correct. Other than that, good job.

  3. the author is saying that he appreciates his favorite computer game league of legends and he is also saying that he love this game but others might not really like it and the thing of value to him is his computer witch he love and the thing he dosent really like or hold deaqr to him is the snow witch he dosent like I think the strength in this story are the fine details in proving on how much he like the game next time you might want to try spacing out you story and maybe clearly pointing out the thing you don't like

  4. I think the author is saying that priceless things to him may not be worth valuing to another person. The two objects the author described in the essay were a game played in League of Legends and Christmas morning. They were both well-described in the essay like when he described how he felt about getting the quadra kill in the game. The strengths in the essay are the ways he describes the priceless moments. Something that he could work on was transition sentences.

  5. I think the author is saying that he doesn't think of the price of the things he values, because the price isn't what matters. He describes in the essay that the two things he values is his Computer and his Christmas dinner. Both which he says are important to him because its a way he can talk to his family.

  6. I think the author is stating in his essay is that there is a difference between priced and priceless items. People may view his priceless item as worth nothing at all when it means everything to you. I think that you could point some things out clearer. Overall I really enjoyed your essay.
